Crafts OnA Winter Day

So now I've moved on from making a kitten to a snow leopard--most appropriate i know. Unfortunately I did not have the best pair of scissors.Also I did not have any paper either so i had to make up my own pattern. It was kinda fun, but the whole time I was affraid I would mess the whole thing up. At present however the side profile is looking not too bad. I've sewn up the back and now i need to either make the tail or start on the legs. more later when I'm further along. happy solstice

snow indead

So my little brother says it's snowing. o happy joy of living! Sadly though, I probably will not go out and play in it because I am not propporly equipped to play in snow.Either way I am happy that it is snowing.Anything other than a white christmas is just unnatural here. I've been accused of causing weather before because of the stories I write, but i promise I didn't start this one. Also, if I were to write a story in summer about winter and snow i do not think it would snow. :D
Don't forget to stock up on food stuffs if there's a storm headed your way, andmake sure you have lots of coco. You might even want to have a fire if you can swing it ... do it for me at least, since I do not have a fireplace here. Enjoy the holiday crystals! mmm I loves me some frozen vaper

Fire Fire!

And most appropriate beginning to the day, that's right a fire alarm. Of course it had to be at four in the morning and we just got back in to the building. The fire trucks are still outside and I can hear them through my open window. I am almost sure that everytime i have had a fire alarm here, it has been in the middle of the night; all except for one time. And being that it was at four in the morning, no one was fully or appropriately dressed, but we dutifally marched out in to the much cooler air of the summer night. I'm very glad it's summer. O yes, and in reference to my last post, I meant to say that it was almost ten o'c at night.:D

Ole Ole

Aaaaaaaaagh! It's not only hot, but it's hot hot hot! It's almost 9 o'c and firefox says it's still 70 degrees. bla! The AC at work stopped working, but I'm usually so cold up there that I hardly noticed. I'm almost sure I'm going to melt and become a puddle of a girl It's funny because when my superviser read me the 2-week forcast it pretty much said rain thunder rain thunder rain rain thunder thunder or some such order. I think we're having a heat wave or something; it probably should thunder, hot as it gets..Seriously, where is the good old ice cream truck when you need it? I remember the one that used to come by my house when I was little used to have pizza. I wonder if it still does, or if any other ice cream truck gives out pizza in addition to frozen treats. I hope it gets cooler soon, although I doubt it will any time. It feels like living in a pastry. Catching Up

Well, I've been gone for quite awhile haven't I? Nothing much has happened at work, and the people who are holding my writing machine still have it which makes me very unhappy. On the bright side however, I am nearly done with my kitten. I've decided to go with green eyes instead of blue and i'm actually still waiting for those,but they should be coming tomorrow. yea! I got a bit anxious after awhile and turned the kitten rightside outso that his fur is showing. I have to say I'm quite happy with him so far and the paws came out nearly perfect.So now he sits on my bed awaiting eyes, then I can stuff him.
My fourth of July weekend was actually nicer than it's been in awhile. i went out with a friend of mine and since it was such a nice day we staied out and found some fireworks. It turned out we could see the ones from Bostonand we had the Boston Pops concert playing on the radio. I love the Pops. I got to dance with Kieth Lockhart once, it was very cool.but the best part is that summer is finally here. Of course this means that the mosquitos are out and that it's hot and sticky out, but I'd take that over all that rain we had. Mississippi can have all our rain, we got too much.
I've got no other projects going aside from my kitten byut i do need to get working on a certain seal. and now I should probably try sleep, something i have not been able to acomplish in weeks. Happy Tuesday!

Kittens and things

I've decided to start sewing a kitten. I've made cats before, but never a kitten and I found this really nice piece of silver gray fur I didn't know I still had. He's coming out alright so far, but i'm worried about his legs.Also, I wasn't sure how big to make him, so I didn't trace out the body like I usually do. He's actually very close to being done; I just need to make his head, the bottums of his paws then stuff him and close him up. I almost feel like a doctor giving stiches. He's going to be a little gray and white kitten and I'm hoping to give him blue eyes, but I don't have blue right now so I may not be able to.My room predictibly looks like a snow storm hit because the white fur has such a thick pile.
The head and paws have to be myleast favorite parts to work on, but, but you can't have a stuffed animal with out a head. the paws them selves aren't what is bad exactly. When I first make an animal, I trace a side profile of the body; no head, no tail. It's When I cut out the fabric, I make it double so that the animal will b three dimentional. Then I cut out four more legs, two hind, two fore, and sew them to the insides of the legs already attached to the body. That way the animal will have four legs.When you finish sewing up the legs there's a hole at the end like a sleave. This is where making the paws really gets started and shaping plays a vig part in how they will look afterward.
The head is a bit trickier to explain, mostly because what I usually do is cut out random shapes and fit them together. You never really know what you'll get with this kind of method, but that's half the fun.

Just a Bit of Something

I had a bit of luck yesterday. I went in to work and no one was there. They may have come in later and I feel a bit bad, but I don't have a key as yet and so I had the day off. I'll probably do some work tomorrow just in case.Today has been a very slow lazy day, but not one i enjoyed much. It's a good day to get lost in my writing, but I'll probably get lost in a book instead. Ah well, I've one more book to read before i must either get another or wait for the others to expire. Happily i may be going out with some friends, so i can stop scorching holes in my bed with my computer. :) ... Poor Scott.
